MTML is pleased to announce that Phase Two of the Exploring Learner Pathways project, titled Visualizing the Learning Journey, is currently underway. The project seeks to develop information tools intended to provide the front lines of adult education programs in Toronto and York Region with easy-access visual materials that will help clarify learning options and pathways for adult learners with ESL and/or Literacy and Basic Skills needs. The tools will help adult learners, teachers, assessors and other stakeholders who direct clients to education and training programs gain a greater understanding of adult education language and literacy program options offered by the various provincial ministries (MTCU, MCI, and EDU) and by Citizenship Immigration Canada.
We are pleased to announce that the first Advisory Committee met in mid-October. Members of the Advisory Committee are:
- Chris Beesley – MTML
- Hanna Cabaj – Toronto Catholic District School Board
- Joseph Colonna – Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration
- Pauline McNaughton – Ministry of Education
- Dunja Metikos – YMCA of Greater Toronto, Language Assessment and Referral Centre
- Cheryl Richman – Toronto District School Board (ESL)
- Elise Sheridan – Seneca College
- Evadne Wilkinson – Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities
